WILLMAR -- New London-Spicer's high-gear offense and defense overwhelmed Dassel-Cokato, 85-59, in the first round of the Bremer Bank Holiday Classic boys basketball tournament Wednesday.
The Wildcats (6-1) will face Willmar in the championship game at approximately 8 p.m. today.
With a combination of pressure defense and a run-and-gun transition style offense, NLS pushed its way to a 47-25 halftime lead.
Rebounding and free-throw shooting also gave the Wildcats a significant advantage. NLS won the battle of the boards, 37-29, and missed only three of 15 free-throw attempts. The Cougars were 6 of 9 from the charity stripe.
New London-Spicer also got a lot of bench players in the game and 13 of scored at least two points. Skylar Wachter led the way with 17 points and nine rebounds. Jordan Radel added 13 points. Kolt Therkilsen and Chris Tengwall had eight points each.

Josh Aho and Zachary Bosma recorded 12 points each for Dassel-Cokato.
