NEW LONDON -- After holding a 40-24 halftime lead, New London-Spicer didn't need a spectacular second half to beat Long Prairie-Grey Eagle in West Central North Conference boys basketball Thursday.
The Wildcats still out-scored the Thunder, 28-25, to finish with a 68-49 victory.
Skylar Wachter scored 19 points to lead the Wildcats (8-0, 16-1), plus he grabbed eight rebounds. Jackson Wright scored 15 points. Wade Powers added a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds. He also blocked eight shots. Chris Tengwall followed with nine points and 10 boards.

Sheldon Carlson led Orono with 15 points and seven rebounds.
For Litchfield (2-5, 4-9), which had a shot at the buzzer miss that could have tied the game, Mike Bredeson had 16 points and seven rebounds. Dominic Devine added 11 points. Steve Hendrickson pulled down 11 rebounds.
