Montevideo, Yellow Medicine East, MACCRAY and Benson all advanced to the Section 3AA-North semifinals Saturday.
Montevideo, the top seed, thumped BOLD 68-47 and Benson, seeded No. 2, topped Lac qui Parle Valley 80-62. No. 5 Yellow Medicine East upended West Central Area 90-65 and No. 3 MACCRAY edged Morris Area 58-48 in the other quarterfinal games.

Montevideo broke away from a four-point intermission lead to beat in the quarterfinals.
Montevideo stepped up its defensive intensity and got into its offensive flow, scoring 41 points in the second half while holding the Warriors (3-23) to 24.

Tyler Grey led the Thunder Hawks with 24 points, including three 3-pointers. Nolan Jasperson recorded a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Jon Altena added 14 points.
Jake Brustuen scored 15 points to pace BOLD. Bret Neubauer added 11 points.

Benson (19-4) trailed by 14 points in the first half, but took a 32-30 lead at halftime.

From there, the Braves took control, rattling off 48 points in the second half.
Daniel Fragodt led Benson with 21 points and had six rebounds and five assists. Joey Fragodt added 20 points and a team-high eight boards, Aaron Hagen had 17 points and Jesse Holm finished with 11 points.
Brady VanderVelde scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the Eagles (10-14). Adam Paulson had 11 points and R.J. Strand 10. Andrew Schmidt added seven rebounds.

YME (13-11) attacked West Central's zone in the second half by throwing over the defenders and scored 57 points to overcome a 35-33 halftime deficit.
Luke Berg led the Sting with a game-high 26 points. He also grabbed six rebounds, had six assists and five steals. Joey Coubal had a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds, Kenton Johnson scored 17 points and grabbed eight boards, and Dylan Hempel added 11 points.

MACCRAY didn't make a two-point field goal in the first half, but turned it around with 42 second-half points.

The Wolverines (16-8) made five 3-pointers and a free throw in the first 18 minutes and Morris (11-13) held a 24-16 lead.
But MACCRAY's Zach Thissen scored 19 of his game-high 22 points in the second half and Matt Condon recorded all 10 of his points after sitting much of the first half.
Ben Perry added12 points. Condon grabbed nine rebounds and Andrew Meyer had eight.
Chase Rambow scored 12 points on four 3-pointers to lead the Tigers. Tyler Wiegman added 10 points.
