Boys Basketball: VanderVelde's double-double lifts Lac qui Parle Valley, 74-56

MADISON -- Brady VanderVelde netted 20 points and grabbed 13 rebounds and Adam Paulson drained four 3-pointers for the second straight night as Lac qui Parle Valley upended Ortonville 74-56 in non-conference action Friday.

The Eagles (7-2) owned a nine-point lead at halftime before pulling away and extending their lead to 20 midway through the second half. As a team LQPV piled up 20 assists and seven blocks.

Paulson, who has made 17 three-pointers in the last five games, trailed VanderVelde with 14 points for the Eagles. Phil Rotunda amassed 13 points while R.J. Strand handed eight assists.

But the Dragons didn't give in, especially on the boards. Mike Bruesewitz put in a missed free throw and Josh Rose grabbed a defensive board and iced the game with two tosses to make the seven-point turnaround.
