SAUK CENTRE -- Paynesville captured a share of the West Central North Conference boys basketball title, beating Sauk Centre 74-63 Tuesday.
The Bulldogs (11-3, 15-5) moved up to tie Melrose (11-3, 16-6), which lost to New London-Spicer Tuesday.
Ben Moser and Cory Nietfeld combined for 42 of Paynesville's 74 points, with Moser leading the team with 22. Elliott Wall added 12 points. Cory Nietfeld and his brother Nathan pulled down 14 rebounds each.
Jake Berling scored 18 points to lead Sauk Centre (8-5, 13-7).

The Wildcats (9-4, 15-6) overcame a 30-26 halftime to topple conference-leading Melrose (11-3, 16-6), going on a 9-2 run to end the game.
The Dutchmen beat NLS 60-49 Jan. 19.
NLS made 7-of-7 free throws in the second half and finished 15-of-18 overall.

Jordan Radel, who was 10 for 10 from the free-throw line, scored a game-high 21 points for the Wildcats. Skylar Wachter added 12 points and six rebounds. Chris Tengwall also grabbed six boards.
