WILLMAR -- It was home sweet home for the Willmar boys as they hosted the Central Lakes Conference meet at Eagle Creek Golf Club Thursday.
Sophomore Sam Warzecha shot a 37-35-72, the day's second lowest score, and Derek Hilding followed with a 76 to lead Willmar to a 312 score, good for third place behind Alexandria's 298 and Brainerd's 309.
Willmar had shot in the high 330's its first two road meets but appears to have found its form just prior to the start of the two-day Willmar/Litchfield Invitational (1 p.m. today at Litchfield, 9 a.m. Saturday at Willmar).
Tyler Wahl at 80 and Tom Wagner at 84 finished out Willmar's top four.
Bryce Hanstad of Alexandria shot 71 for medalist.
