SAUK RAPIDS -- Andy Supan netted a hat trick and Kyle Henkemeyer amassed four points as Sauk Rapids blanked Willmar 9-0 Thursday in Central Lakes Conference boys hockey.
"We did't have a whole lot of opportunities," said Willmar coach Reed Larson. "We were matched up against a good team. They dominated us."
The Storm (14-4-0, 19-5-0) outshot Willmar (2-11-1, 6-15-1) 44-15 as Justin Lochner notched a shutout for Sauk Rapids, which had three power-play goals and two shorthanded goals. Jeff Reed made 35 saves for Willmar, including 19 in the first period.
Sauk Rapids came in 11-1 in its last 12 games, including a 6-1 win at Willmar Jan. 10. The Storm had won seven straight since losing 3-1 at Brainerd.
Willmar plays an important game for seeding on Tuesday when they host Section 4A and conference rival Alexandria.
