WILLMAR -- Josh Aslesen's penalty kick in the 35th minute of the first half was all the scoring as Willmar tipped conference rival Alexandria 1-0 in Central Lakes boys soccer Saturday at Hodapp Field.
Ethan Vogel stopped nine Alexandria shots to claim a shutout.
No. 10-seed Willmar starts Section 2A 4 p.m. Tuesday at No. 7 Worthington.
Aslesen got pushed in the penalty box drawing the point-blank opportunity.
"Josh hasn't missed a penalty kick all year," said head coach Richard Courtney. "We moved him to sweeper in the second half to help protect the lead. That's as well as we've played on defense for two entire halves this fall."
