ST. CLOUD -- The St. Cloud Tech Tigers took control in the second half and went on to shut out the Willmar Cardinals 3-0 Tuesday.
"We played them even in the first half," said coach Richard Courtney. "Then we made a bad play on a ball where the sweeper and goalie didn't communicate and they went up two nothing. After that, we stopped working and quit passing. They outplayed us in the second half."
It was the Central Lakes Conference opener for both teams.
"We need to bounce back for Apollo," said Courtney, referring to Thursday's home game with the Eagles from St. Cloud.
