WILLMAR -- A senior-freshman pairing is paying off for Willmar tennis as the regular season winds down.

Senior Zach Burton and ninth-grader Mitch Fader won their fifth in a row at 2-doubles during the Cardinals' 6-1 non-conference victory over New London-Spicer on Thursday.

Willmar (9-3) also won its fifth straight match.

Willmar swept doubles. Jim Neis moved from 3-singles to 1-doubles to pair with Trent Fader, whose regular partner Jordan Baker was away on a school-related trip. It was the day's most suspenseful match as the Willmar duo took the point from Ryan Woodhall-Rob Pieh 6-2, 3-6, 7-5.

Marco Vazquez beat Jackson Wright at 1-singles 6-0, 6-3. Elijah Wilson at 3-singles got the Wildcats' point.
