Brainerd selects Razidlo for superintendent position; Kjergaard was other finalist

The Brainerd School Board has offered its superintendent position to Brainerd Assistant Superintendent Steve Razidlo, according to a district spokesperson.

Waconia Superintendent Jerry Kjergaard was the other finalist considered at Thursday's meeting.

The Brainerd board met at 12:30 p.m. Thursday and unanimously voted to offer the district's superintendent position to Razidlo.

Kjergaard, one of three finalists in the second round of interviews, is in Willmar today. He will tour the district Thursday.

He will meet at 2:30 p.m. Thursday with district administrators and participate in a question and answer session with school staff at 3:30 p.m.

He will meet the public and answer questions at 4:30 p.m. at the rehearsal hall at the Willmar Education and Arts Center, 611 Fifth St. S.W.

After dinner with the school board, he will have a hour-long interview with the board at 7:15 p.m. in the board room on the WEAC main floor.
