WILLMAR -- The jury trial for former Pact 4 Families Collaborative Executive Director Toni Braness was cancelled Tuesday pending a possible plea agreement with Kandiyohi County prosecutors.
Braness, accused of misusing Pact 4 gift cards and gift certificates worth around $10,000, is expected to plead to one or more of the three felony charges she faces. A plea hearing is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. today, but as of Tuesday afternoon no official plea agreement had been filed with court administration.
Braness faces three felony charges of theft by swindle for her alleged misuse of Pact 4 funds.
Braness was fired Oct. 13 by the Pact 4 executive board.
Pact 4 Families Collaborative is a joint powers entity between Kandiyohi, Meeker, Renville and Yellow Medicine counties. Its purpose is to provide services for families and children with mental health issues.
