Former New London-Spicer girls basketball standouts Allison Bratsch and Jessica Heinen have been instrumental in Hamline University's recent surge.
Bratsch, a sophomore guard, scored a career-high 19 points, making 7-of-11 shots from the field, in the Pipers' 75-62 win over Bethel Monday night in Arden Hills. Heinen, a freshman post, had eight points and six rebounds.
The Pipers have won three of their last four games to improve to 7-6. Over that span, Bratschx has averaged 11.5 points and Heinen 10.0 with a high of 14 off the bench last week against Augsburg.
