Investigators find human remains at farm’s fire pit
HUTCHINSON - The disappearance of a central Minnesota man is being treated as a death investigation after human remains were found outside the home of two suspects in the case.
The remains, including teeth and human bones, were found in the fire pit at the residence of Robert Nuttall and Gwen Butcher near Hutchinson, a news release from the Wright County Sheriff’s Office said. Nuttall and Butcher already had been charged in the disappearance of Christopher Rossing.
Human remains also were recovered from a corn field across the street from the Hutchinson farmstead. The evidence was sent to the Anoka County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension lab for analysis and identification.
Rossing, 25, was last seen at several bars in the town of Howard Lake early Aug. 23.
In September, the Wright County Sheriff’s Office arrested, Nuttall, 28, on kidnapping charges and Butcher, 32, on felony obstructing charges.
The sheriff’s office says Nuttall and Rossing fought early on the morning Rossing was last seen.
Investigators suspect that other people have information about Rossing’s disappearance and are asking for help finding them.
