BALL nominations open until Sept. 1
WILLMAR -- Nominations are being accepted until Sept. 1 for the awards to be presented at the second annual Business Awards Leadership Luncheon later in September.
The Emerging Young Leader Award is for an individual younger than 35 whose leadership benefits the community, demonstrated through creativity, volunteerism, responsibility, organizational skills and other qualities. It is not limited to Chamber of Commerce members or activities and may include work for other organizations.
The MILO award recognizes local business leaders who exemplify the late Milo Halberg's leadership in the areas of volunteerism, community leadership and involvement and dedication to the Chamber of Commerce. Halberg was a longtime Chamber volunteer. He died in 2001. The award is presented to a Chamber member who is 35 or older and has provided leadership in the Chamber as well as other organizations.
The Exemplary Leadership Award is designed to honor a woman who has achieved recognition in her field and made significant contributions to the profession and business or organization of which she is a member. The award is, however, open to a man, woman or business who meet the criteria of having a successful and exemplary records of leadership resulting in noteworthy accomplishments for the business or organization that the leader serves. The recipient's success will have inspired others in the profession -- and ideally other community members -- to recognize the person as a leader.
