Dec. 6: An employer seminar "Improve Your Workplace Safety and Health" will be from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Chippewa County Courthouse in Montevideo. James Collins, Minnesota Occupational Safety and Health Administration management team director with the Department of Labor and Industry, will provide a comprehensive understanding of Minnesota OSHA programs. Dec. 8: "Serve your Country ... Hire a Vet" workshop, 8:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., Prairie's Edge Casino Resort, Granite Falls. Maj. Gen. Larry A. Shellito, adjutant general of the Minnesota National Guard, will be the keynote speaker. Sessions on employment of veterans including tax breaks available for employers who hire a disabled vet, reemployment of veterans, and "Hire a Vet" programs in St. Cloud and Chicago.
