WILLMAR - A Buick LeSabre crashed into a Willmar apartment building Thursday morning.
The crash occurred just before 9:30 a.m. at Westview Village Apartments on the 1400 block of 19th Avenue Southwest in Willmar.
According to Willmar Police Chief Jim Felt, the crash happened after the driver of the buick, Vivian Lorraine Degroot, 89, of Prinsburg, drove into the parking lot, and reportedly attempted to hit the brake pedal but hit the gas pedal instead.
Myrna Yvonne Deboer, 78, also of Prinsburg, was a passenger in the Buick at the time of the crash.
Smoke reportedly filled the apartment complex, setting off alarms throughout the building.
The Willmar Police Department, Willmar Fire Department and Willmar Ambulance Service responded to the scene.
No injuries were reported, and Felt said there are no signs of alcohol or drug use as factors in the crash.
By 3 p.m., construction workers had already boarded up the hole in the building from the incident.
