ATWATER -- Carl Fred Fredrick, 79, of Atwater died Friday morning at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.
The service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Harrison Community Presbyterian Church. Interment will be at Oakside Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Atwater American Legion Post #375.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Atwater Funeral Home and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church.

He was born on Feb. 2, 1927, in Georgeville to Fred "Fritz" L. and Ruth (Berg) Fredrick. He grew up and went to school in Georgeville. From 1950 to 1952, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He married Leone M. Kragenbring on Oct. 26, 1952. They made their home in Montevideo. They later lived and farmed in rural Atwater. He retired from farming in 1992 and moved into Atwater in 1995.
He was a member of Harrison Community Presbyterian Church and served as an usher and elder. He was also a member of the Atwater American Legion Post #375.
He is survived by his wife; five children: Scott (and Debb) Fredrick of Spicer, Karla Straumann of Atwater, Cheryl (and Duane) Krotzer of Milaca, Linda (and David) Malvin of Atwater and Brian (and Rachelle) Fredrick of Spicer; 13 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a brother: Donald Fredrick of Melrose; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three grandchildren and a sister.
