WILLMAR _ Quarterback Mike Beehler threw for three touchdowns _ two of them to the MCCC's leading receiver Nate Schoenecker _ helping Central Lakes College of Brainerd dump Ridgewater College 23-12 on a warm, breezy Saturday evening at Hodapp Field in front of upwards of 600 fans.
Both teams are 3-2 but the Raiders move ahead of the Warriors in the standings since this was a Southern Division game worth two points.
Quarterback Justin Koenen and running back Alex McLaughlin each made short touchdown runs for the Warriors, but Koenen was intercepted six times, four by Landrian Gordon, giving the freshman from Grandview, Mo., eight for the season. Full report in Monday's Tribune.
