GRANITE FALLS -- Charles David "Dave" Gardner, 59, of Granite Falls, died Sunday at the VA Hospital in Minneapolis.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Wing-Bain Funeral Home Chapel in Granite Falls. Burial will be at Doncaster Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home in Granite Falls.
He was born Aug. 16, 1947, in Ringgold, Ga., to Charles and Margaret (Kittle) Gardner. He graduated from Ringgold High School in 1965. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force on May 28, 1965. He attended the Community College of the Air Force, Eastern Washington University, Howard Payne University at Shaw AFB, and later Southwest Minnesota State University.

He married Laurie Blue on Jan. 9, 1982, in Granite Falls. He served his country for over 20 years and was honorably discharged on Aug. 1, 1985. Most recently, he worked with children at Bert Raney Elementary School.
He is survived by his children: Jonathan Gardner, Elliott Gardner, Tianna Gardner, all of Granite Falls, Kimberly (and Scott) Green of Ringgold, Ga., Lisa (and Ivan) Hoyt; five grandchildren; his mother of Ringgold, Ga.; and two brothers: Jerry (and Sarah) Gardner of Laurel, Miss., and Bill (and Robin) Gardner of Ringgold, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his father; and an infant daughter: Holly Jean Gardner.
