STARBUCK -- Charles Edward Lida, 67, of Starbuck died Friday at Knute-Nelson Memorial Home in Alexandria.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Fron Lutheran Church in Starbuck. Burial will be at the church cemetery in rural Starbuck.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Starbuck Funeral Home in Starbuck and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
He was born Jan. 29, 1939, in Starbuck to Clarence and Virgie (Peterson) Lida. He attended grade school in Lowry and high school in Morris. He attended the Morris School of Agriculture. He helped on the family farm.

He married Mary Sell on Nov. 29, 1965. They farmed near Lowry until 1982. They moved to Carson, Nev., and then returned to Starbuck one year later. He operated Chuck's Welding Shop.
He was a co-founder of the Pope County Flyers, and was on the Ben Wade Township Board for 18 years. He served on the Pork Producers Board, and was a member of the Minnesota Army National Guard for six years.
He is survived by his wife; and one brother: Douglas (and Linda) Lida of Minneapolis.
He was preceded in death by one son: Matthew Paul, and twin daughters: Carla and Kathleen.
