BOYD -- Charles J. "Chuck" Doose, 76, of Boyd died Friday.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyd. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Military rites will be provided by Boyd American Legion Post 198 and the Dawson VFW Post 5247.
He was born on March 13, 1931, in Wood Lake, to John and Pearl (Erickson) Doose. He received his education in Boyd. He served for four years in the U.S. Air Force, as a firefighter in the United States and in England.
He married Ruby Agre in 1952, in Granite Falls. They were dairy farmers.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyd, American Legion, Boyd-Dawson School Board, VFW, Farmers Union, DFL and Prairie Five Board. He was also a Golden Gloves Boxer.

He is survived by his children: Daniel (and Judy) Doose of Vernon, Texas, Charlene Dixon of Shell Lake, Wis., Teri (and Arlyn) Shelstad of Montevideo, Donald of Montevideo and Darwin (and Teresa) of Buffalo; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and siblings: Violet (and Virgil) Anderson, Arlene (and Merle) Hahn, Shirley Shogren, Lavonee Priebe and Gordy (and Cheryl) Doose.
He was preceded in death by his wife and a brother.
