BLAINE -- Charles W. Roepke, 78, of Blaine, formerly of Boyd, died Saturday.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Circle Pines. A private burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home in Lino Lakes and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.

He was born June 9, 1927, in Winthrop to Walter and Mildred (Lofthus) Roepke. He grew up in Boyd. He served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1947.

He married Bernice Peterson in 1952. He received a master's degree in education from the University of Minnesota and taught industrial arts at Centennial High School in Lino Lakes from 1958 to 1989.

He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Circle Pines.

He is survived by his wife; children: Donald of Cumberland, Wis., Lori (and Jack) Churchill of Plymouth; and two grandsons.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
