BENSON -- Chester S. Knutson, 86, of Holloway, died Monday at Chippewa County-Montevideo Hospital in Montevideo.
The graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Benson City Cemetery.
Arrangements are with Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson.
He was born April 2, 1920, in Benson to Carl and Emma (Olson) Knutson. He grew up in Benson and graduated from Benson High School. He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1946. He worked at the Aanaconda mine in Montana, mining copper. He later worked for the Ladd Hatchery in Benson. He returned to the Benson area in 1992 and lived in Appleton and Holloway.

He is survived by his sons: Charles (and Lois) Knutson of Birmingham, Ala., Craig Knutson of Wichita Falls, Texas; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three siblings: Alvina (and Arnold) Maus of Benson, Willard Knutson of Benson, and Louis Wiebold of Eden Prairie.
He was preceded in death by one son: Sanford Knutson; three brothers and three sisters.
