GRAND RAPIDS, Minn. -- A small child died in a house fire Sunday night south of Grand Rapids, the Itasca County Sheriff’s Office said.
Firefighters were called to a home about 9:30 p.m. Sunday. The 911 caller reported that the house was fully engulfed in flames and that a small child still was inside.
Three occupants of the home - 38-year-old Glen Michael Campbell, 24-year-old Nichole Anne Juilen and a child whose name and age were not released - escaped the home and were taken to Grand Itasca Medical Center for injuries related to the fire and smoke inhalation.
The body of another child was removed from the residence. Authorities are withholding the name of the deceased child pending notification of family.
