ST. LEO -- Deputies, fire departments, family members, friends and a private party from Canby with an airplane helped the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff's Office look for a 6-year-old child who was reported missing and had walked into a cornfield north of St. Leo Saturday morning.
More than 90 minutes after the sheriff's department was called at 11:05 a.m., the child walked out of the cornfield at about 12:53 p.m. to fire department personnel who were surrounding the field, said the sheriff's office. The child had no apparent injuries and was returned to his home.
Others assisting with the search were the Boyd Fire Department, Clarkfield Fire Department, Canby Fire Department, Porter Fire Department, St. Leo Fire Department, the Yellow Medicine County Technical Rescue Team, the Minnesota State Patrol, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, the Chippewa County Sheriff's Office and the Codington County Search and Rescue Team.
