KERKHOVEN -- Kelsey Jeseritz hammered down 18 kills for Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg, but Chokio-Alberta/Herman-Norcross spoiled the Saints' opener by going home with a 25-23, 25-19, 25-27, 25-21 non-conference win Tuesday.
Kristi Steinhaus also had a solid hitting night for KMS, adding 15 kills.
Both Jeseritz and Steinhaus made only four errors in 49 attacks while Kim Stassen piled up eight kills after committing only one error in 25 attacks. Amber Johnson chalked up 28 assists and Laura Zimmer had a team-high 18 digs for KMS, which placed third in last year's Class A State Tournament.
