DEGRAFF -- Christian J. Fernholz, 100, of Willmar, formerly of DeGraff, died Friday at Bethesda Pleasantview in Willmar.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. today at St. Bridget's Catholic Church in DeGraff. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson.
He was born Jan. 13, 1906, in Redwood County to Ludwig and Emma (Gorres) Fernholz. The family moved to the DeGraff area and he attended school through the seventh grade.

He married Marcella Platt on Oct. 11, 1935, in Red Lake Falls. They lived and farmed southwest of DeGraff. They moved to Benson in 1983. He moved to Bethesda Pleasantview in 2006.
He is survived by his children: Lorna (and Maurice) Collette of Grafton, N.D., Charlotte Berg Willmar, Ronald (and Dawn) Fernholz of DeGraff; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and one daughter-in-law: Karen Fernholz of Scandia.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1998; son: Gerald Fernholz; son-in-law: Russell Berg; one grandson; four sisters and three brothers.
