Cinco de Mayo festival is Saturday

The third annual Cinco de Mayo family festival will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Willmar Junior High School football field.

The free family event will feature music, food and fun.

The headline show is the "Aztec Dancers," an adult and children's group which performs with drums, fire and elaborate costumes. The folk dancing group "Mexico Lindo" will also perform.

The Kid zone will have inflatable, piñatas, a clown, arts and crafts area.

There will be a variety of music groups including the "Los Lobos Norteños."

This year will have three contests: a jalapeño eating contest, a "grito" contest which is a Mexican cheer and the grand finale will be "Willmar Idol" contest with the assistance of Chacal, the Mexican version of a Grim Reaper.

There will be a variety of Mexican food and fresh flavored fruit water.

In case of rain, the festival will be in Kennedy Elementary School.
