CLARKFIELD --Clara Elaine Sorum, 98, of Clarkfield, died Friday at the Clarkfield Care Center.
The service will be at 11 a.m. today at the Bergen Lutheran Church, Stony Run Township. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church today. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers to Bergen Lutheran Church or hospice.
She was born on Feb. 9, 1908 in Stanley, N.D., to John and Alice (Nelson) Anderson. She graduated from Stanley High School and attended one year of teacher's training at the normal school in Minot, N.D. She was a teacher for about five years.

She marked Alvin Sorum on June 27, 1935. They farmed until they moved to Clarkfield in 1972. She moved to the Valhalla Apartments in Clarkfield in 1984 and became a resident of the Clarkfield Care Center in 2001.
She was a member of Bergen Lutheran Church, the Bergen Ladies Aid, the hospital auxiliary and the Lisbon Garden Club.
She is survived by her sons: Curtis (and Rosie) Sorum of Marshall, Roger (and Karol) Sorum of Clarkfield, and Roland (and Carol) Sorum of Walker; a daughter, LaVonne Koosman of Ft. Myers, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Myrtle Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and two sisters.
