PRINSBURG -- The No. 2-ranked Central Minnesota Bluejays romped over the previously undefeated BOLD Warriors 25-20, 25-14, 25-16 before a large crowd Monday.
Coach Traci Grussing said the Bluejays' experience, which included fifth place at the Class A state tournament in 2004, was an asset.
"The experience definitely helped," she said. "We had people put the ball down offensively and we played pretty good defense tonight."
BOLD had its best chance to grab momentum in Game 1 when they rallied from 18-10 to close to 22-18. But CMCS pulled away from its former Two Twelve Conference rival to win by five points.
BOLD senior hitter Missy Benson applauded the Bluejays for their ball movement.

"They mix it up and they always have three good hitters up front, which makes it tough to block," said Benson, who had a team-high seven kills.
Hilary Slagter made 15 kills, Elizabeth Bulthuis nine and Missy Mulder and Jennifer Blom six each for CMCS. Blom was also perfect on 19 serves and Moriah Gulbrandson had two aces in 16 serves.
Leah Miller added seven kills for BOLS and Brittany Kelgen five. Megan Novotny supplied three kills and two ace blocks.
BOLD went to 4-1 and CMCS to 9-1; the former Two-Twelve league members now play in the West Central South and the Camden North, respectively.
