FAIRFAX -- Kresson Vreeman, a 5-8 senior outside hitter/setter, had a spectacular all-around match in helping Central Minnesota Christian sweep Lester Prairie in the Section 2A-North semifinals Tuesday.
The Bluejays (18-9) will now face Cedar Mountain/-Comfrey in the sub-section final at 6 p.m. Thursday at Martin Luther College in New Ulm.
Cedar Mountain/Comfrey (13-9) won a marathon match against Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg in the other semifinal, 24-26, 25-19, 29-17, 11-25, 15-13.
Vreeman had a team-high 18 kills and six ace serves, tied for the team lead in assists with Cassie Ulferts at 18 and in ace blocks with Tara Frikke with three.
CMCS is the defending 2A champions. If the Bluejays win on Thursday, they would defend their title against the 2A-South champion on Saturday at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter.

KMS lost a heart-breaker. After winning the first game, the Fighting Saints lost the next two before dominating Game 4. But Cedar Mountain/Comfrey rallied back and took the fifth and deciding game.
KMS finished the season with a 19-8 record.
