Cokato man faces felony charges in burglary

WILLMAR -- A second man allegedly involved in a December burglary faces felony charges in Kandiyohi County.

Jeffrey Earl Chapman, 18, made his initial appearance Monday on seven felony charges. He and Frank Lee Chapman, 27, both of Cokato face two counts each of first-degree burglary, theft and first-degree criminal damage to property after the incident.

The Chapmans were allegedly involved in the burglary of a Willmar woman's home Dec. 22. Along with several others, the Chapmans allegedly broke into the home and smashed an aquarium full of fish before leaving with a drill, some clothing and a purebred rat terrier dog.

Both Chapmans, Laura Jean Kepke, 22, of Buffalo; Heather Lynn Radman, 19, of Rockford; Lindsay Ann Kokales, 21, of Buffalo; and a 15-year-old girl from Buffalo were all taken into custody, after being picked up by Meeker County authorities.

The group allegedly caused more than $800 worth of damage. The victim of the burglary was in the bathtub when the door to the home was knocked in.

Frank made his first appearance in December and is currently being held on $75,000 unconditional bail. Jeffrey made his first appearance Jan. 11 and is being held on $25,000 bail after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Jeffrey is scheduled to appear in court again March 8.
