Cold recycling

Forklift operator Curt Sack lifts a bin of cardboard to take to the bailer Wednesday at the Kandiyohi County Recycling Facility in southwest Willmar. The cold, blustery weather - it was minus 11 degrees with a 31-degree wind chill - kept many recyclers at home.
“It slows down a little bit when it gets this cold, but when the weather’s OK, we have to empty the collection containers three times a day and the bins maybe twice,” Sack said.
