ROCHESTER -- For the second straight week, Ridgewater College took an early lead only to be overtaken -- this time by Rochester 25-8 on Saturday in Minnesota Community College South Division football.
The Warriors (1-6) led 8-3 after one quarter on a 10-yard Desmond Moody-to-Jason Pawelk pass play and a pass to Dan Drexler for the two-point conversion.
The Ridgewater defense did all it could to stifle the Yellowjackets, giving up just six first downs and 217 total yards and scooping up four fumbles for a 4-1 edge in takeaways.
But the Yellowjackets' defenders allowed the visitors only 152 total yards and three first downs. Warriors' tailback Justin Laughlin was limited to 72 yards in 27 lugs, a meager 2.7 average.
Rochester triggerman Henry Lau threw for two TDs. He completed 14 passes to eight different receivers. Place-kicker Jered Fohrman booted field goals of 45, 30 and 24 yards to run his total to eight this fall.

Linebackers Blake Hagert and Josh Wentzel, tackle Ben Thonvold and defensive backs Joey Lux and Ryan Ronan were tackle leaders for Ridgewater.
On Sept. 30, Ridgewater led Central Lakes 6-0 at half but bowed 24-13.
After two weeks on the road, the Warriors are back home to play Minnesota West on Saturday.
