SACRED HEART –– A Colorado man was killed Monday morning near Sacred Heart when the semi he was driving went into the ditch and overturned.
According to the Renville County Sheriff’s Office, Harold Schwindt, 78, of Fort Collins, Colo. was driving an International semi east on Renville County Road 11, about four miles north of Sacred Heart, when the vehicle entered the south ditch and overturned.
Schwindt was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which was reported at 7:24 a.m.
Schwindt was the only occupant in the vehicle.
The Renville County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Sacred Heart Medical Response Unit, Sacred Heart Fire Department, Renville Ambulance Service and the Minnesota State Patrol.
