OLIVIA -- The University of Minnesota Extension and Renville County Extension will provide area farmers and ag professionals with an agronomy update for corn and soybean production from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday at Max's Grill in Olivia.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. There is a $10 registration fee at the door to cover the meeting proceedings, refreshments and the noon meal.
The Renville County Corn and Soybean Growers Association annual meeting is from 11:30 a.m. to noon, followed by buffet lunch for all people attending. Current members of the association will not be charged the $10 registration fee.
The U of M faculty from the Southwest Research and Outreach Center at Lamberton, regional Extension educators and the Ridgewater College Farm Business Management staff will review corn and soybean crop budgets and marketing plans, nitrogen, sulfur and residue management in corn-corn rotations, 2010 weed control and herbicide labels and a soybean disease update.
