REDWOOD FALLS -- Cornella Gertrude Hillger, 95, of Redwood Falls died April 27 at Wood Dale Nursing Home in Redwood Falls.

The service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Redwood Falls. Private burial will be earlier Tuesday at the Redwood Falls Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Nelson-Martin Funeral Service in Redwood Falls. The memorials are preferred to Feed My Starving Children.

She was born July 15, 1912, in Morgan to C. L. and Ida (Zaske) Albrecht. She grew up on a farm and graduated from Morgan High School. After completing her studies for her lifetime teaching certificate at Mankato Teachers College, she returned to the Morgan area where she taught school.

She married Clarence Hillger on June 9, 1937, in Morgan. She was a homemaker. In 1954, she was a substitute teacher for two weeks and assisted the superintendent in Franklin. This position turned into 18 years of teaching first grade. She retired from teaching in 1973.

She was a member of the Morgan Methodist Church. She was a member in the First United Methodist Church in Redwood Falls where she taught Sunday school and was a member of her church circle.

She is survived by her children: Jean Church of Aurora, Colo., and Charles (and Judy) Hillger of Eden Prairie; four grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and two step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a sister and two brothers.
