ROBBINSDALE -- Corwin J. Anderson, 83, of Robbinsdale, formerly of Fairfax and Spicer, died Tuesday at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Swedlanda Lutheran Church, Palmyra Township, Renville County. Burial will be at Zion Lutheran Cemetery, in Bandon Township, Renville County, with full military rites by the Fairfax Honor Guard.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today and 7:30 to 8 a.m. Friday at Hauser-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Fairfax and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to the VFW, the American Legion or the Humane Society.
He was born Oct. 24, 1924, in Brandon Township to Emil C. and Albertina (Anderson) Anderson. He graduated from Fairfax High School in 1942. He attended Gustavus Adolphus College from 1946 to 1947. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a private first class during World War II.
He married Ruth (Tess) Lorayne Nestande on Sept. 4, 1947, in Bandon Township where they farmed. They retired in 1990 and moved to Spicer. In 2006, they moved to Copperfield Hill Senior Living in Robbinsdale. Tess died in 2006.

He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Fairfax and Faith Lutheran Church in Spicer. He was also a member of Fairfax VFW Post 8459 and Fairfax American Legion Post 205. He was also in a bowling league.
He is survived by his children: Naomi (and Darrel) Farr of Bonita Springs, Fla., Jayson (and Jocelyn) Anderson of Wayzata, Kim (and Keri) Anderson of Franklin and Jennifer (and Bill) Sieps of Dallas; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; sisters: Francis Coffin, Pauline (and Lyman) Boyum, and Ruth Anderson; step-grandchildren; and step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, two brothers and two sisters.
