County Board scheduled to tour Prinsco Thursday

WILLMAR -- The Kandiyohi County Board of Commissioners will tour Prinsco Inc., a Prinsburg company that makes plastic drainage tiles, as part of its meeting Thursday.

WILLMAR -- The Kandiyohi County Board of Commissioners will tour Prinsco Inc., a Prinsburg company that makes plastic drainage tiles, as part of its meeting Thursday.

The commissioners are scheduled to eat lunch at the Prinsburg Café before visiting the southern Kandiyohi County company. Commissioner Harlan Madsen, who represents that area, arranged the tour.

The commissioners will meet Thursday this week, a change from their regular meeting date, in order to attend the annual meeting of the Association of Minnesota Counties.

They will meet at 9 a.m. Thursday as the Family Service Committee, when they will hear a report on the Minnesota River Area Agency on Aging program and discuss legislative proposals that are of concern to the Minnesota Social Service Association.

At 10 a.m. the commissioners will award bids for a construction project at Prairie Woods Environmental Learning Center; consider a request for tax abatement from Melvin's on the Lake in Spicer; approve the 2007 budget and tax levy; take action on a block grant for water projects; approve the salary for the commissioners; take action to refinance the Law Enforcement Center; and set a meeting date with county park managers to review the 2007 fees and policies. At 11:45 a.m. the commissioners will meet as the Community Health Board with Public Health Director Ann Stehn.

The commissioners meet on the second floor of the Health and Human Services building which is located at 2200 23rd St. N.E.
