WILLMAR – Two persons were located in a corn field along the 11000 block of Highway 40 in St. Johns Township after fleeing from a CEE-VI Drug and Gang Task Force agent around 1:56 p.m. Wednesday.
Arrested was a 42-year old Willmar man. Also involved was a 28-year old woman from Granite Falls. The names of the two individuals have not been released and the incident is still an active investigation.
According to the task force press release, a task force agent attempted to stop a motor vehicle in Willmar. The vehicle fled from the agent, traveling westbound on Highway 40 in Willmar. The pursuit went several miles before the vehicle left the roadway and entered the corn field. The male driver of the vehicle and the female passenger fled on foot, into the field.
A perimeter was set up around the field by law enforcement and a drone from the Willmar Police Department and a Kandiyohi County Sheriff K-9 unit were deployed and able to track down and apprehend the suspects.
Assisting the CEE-VI Task Force was the Willmar Police Department and the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office.
