One injured in crash

DASSEL — One person was injured in a rear-end collision Wednesday night near Dassel. The crash was reported at 10:33 p.m. on U.S. Highway 12 near 735th Avenue just east of Dassel.

The Minnesota State Patrol said a 2010 Volkswagen Jetta was westbound on Highway 12 when it was rear-ended by a 2006 Ford Focus.

The driver of the Ford Focus, Ginger Gay Oberpriller, 51, of South Haven, was transported by Gold Cross Ambulance to Litchfield for treatment of injuries. It is unknown whether she was wearing a seat belt.

The driver of the Volkswagen Jetta, Mark William Kenney, 20, of Buffalo Lake, and a passenger, Autumn Colleen Pappenfus, 20, of Buffalo, were not injured. Both were wearing seat belts, according to the State Patrol.

The pavement was wet at the time of the crash, and alcohol was not involved, the Patrol report said.

The Meeker County Sheriff's Office and Dassel Fire Department assisted at the scene.
