Three vehicle crash on Civic Center Drive
WILLMAR — Three vehicles were involved in a crash around 3:01 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Civic Center Drive Northeast and Technology Drive Northeast in Willmar.
There were no injuries, the incident report said.
All three vehicles were traveling west on Civic Center Drive when the Honda stopped for a turning vehicle ahead of it. A Ford, traveling behind the Honda, ran into the Honda and a third vehicle behind the Ford, a Toyota, ran into the Ford.
Wrong way roundabout driver
WILLMAR — A report of a wrong-way driver was called into law enforcement at 4:21 p.m. Wednesday. The report said a driver was seen driving the wrong way in the new roundabout at 19th Avenue Southwest and County Road 5 on the west edge of Willmar.
Law enforcement will continue to educate the public on how to use the roundabout through social media and signs.
A scam possibly frauds an individual out of $1,400
WILLMAR — Law enforcement received a call about a fraud around 8:38 p.m. Wednesday in Willmar. The victim reported to law enforcement that he received a call from someone identifying themselves as the FBI, which they were not. The scammer told the victim he needed to provide the scammer with money by gift card, the report said.
The victim purchased two gift cards, worth a total of $1,400, the report said. The victim then told law enforcement they had passed the gift card numbers to the scammers.
Crash near railroad crossing in Willmar
WILLMAR — A bus was indirectly involved in a two-vehicle fender bender around 3:38 p.m. Thursday near the railroad crossing at U.S. Highway 12 West, west of County Road 5. There were no injuries.
According to the report, the bus had stopped at the railroad crossing. The vehicle behind the bus had to stop very quickly to avoid hitting the bus from behind. A third vehicle had to stop quickly to avoid hitting the second, but was unable to stop. None of the vehicles hit the bus.
Vehicle crash causes minor injuries to child
WILLMAR — A 9-year-old child suffered minor injuries in a motor vehicle rollover at 4 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of Kandiyohi County Road 1 and 45th Avenue Southwest in St. John's Township, west of Willmar.
Also receiving minor injuries was the 29-year old driver, of Prinsburg. A 10-year-old child was also in the car but was not injured. The names of the people involved were not released by the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office.
According to the sheriff's office press release, alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.
No other details of the crash were released.
Assisting at the scene was the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office, Raymond Ambulance, Willmar Ambulance, Raymond Fire Department, Kandiyohi County Rescue Squad and the Minnesota State Patrol.
WILLMAR — Kandiyohi County Sheriff deputies had to play yak herders on Thursday.
A group of yaks were reported loose at 7:50 p.m. Thursday around the 4000 block of County Road 5 Northwest in Willmar. Deputies were able to herd the animals into a pen.
