Two injured in crash near Grove City

GROVE CITY — Two people were injured early Wednesday morning north of Grove City when a disabled vehicle that was parked on the side of the road was struck from behind by another vehicle.

The accident was reported at 3:51 a.m. on state Highway 4 at 300th Street in Swede Grove Township.

According to the State Patrol, a 2001 Chevy Suburban driven by Vincent Gilbert Sanchez, 52, of Buffalo Lake, was parked on the shoulder of northbound Highway 4 with vehicle trouble when it was struck by a northbound 2004 Cadillac Escalade driven by Rob William Pederson, 59, of Hawick.

Sanchez, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Meeker Memorial Hospital in Litchfield with non-life-threatening injuries.

Pederson, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered non-life-threatening injuries but was not taken to a medical facility, according to the State Patrol.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, according to the report, and roads were dry at the time.

The Meeker County Sheriff’s Office and Mayo Ambulance assisted at the scene.

Theft reported at Atwater business

ATWATER — A theft was reported at 10:10 a.m. Tuesday at a business on the 200 block of Atlantic Avenue West in Atwater.

According to the report, the store was broken into and various items were taken.

Students fighting at school

WILLMAR — Law enforcement were called at 9:27 a.m. Wednesday to Willmar Senior High School on a report of two students fighting.

According to the incident report, the school wanted the students to be charged with disorderly conduct.
