Women arrested in Meeker County pursuit
DASSEL — Two women were arrested following a vehicle pursuit around 8:28 p.m. Friday after an attempted traffic stop by a Meeker County sheriff's deputy on U.S. Highway 12, just west of state Highway 15, according to a Meeker County Sheriff’s Office news release.
According to the release, the driver, a 35-year-old woman from St. Cloud, eventually stopped after being pursued for about five miles and was arrested without further incident for driving while impaired and fleeing a peace officer.
The passenger, a 27-year-old woman from Darwin, was arrested for obstructing when she physically resisted deputies. She was also charged with introducing contraband into a jail.
The passenger posted bail and has a court date for July 28.
The driver made her first court appearance on Monday.
Litchfield man arrested in pursuit
LITCHFIELD — A 27-year-old Litchfield man was arrested Sunday for fleeing a peace officer and controlled substance violations following a pursuit around 3:30 p.m. after a traffic stop on Highway 12 and 560th Avenue, according to a Meeker County Sheriff’s Office news release.
According to the release, the Litchfield man initially stopped for a Meeker County deputy and was identified but then drove away from the traffic stop and was pursued by the deputy.
As the driver approached another officer who was waiting for the pursuit to pass by, he pulled over and was arrested without further incident.
The pursuit lasted about two miles.
The driver had his first court appearance on Monday.
Villard man's hay bales burn
ASHLEY TOWNSHIP — Emergency services responded to a structure fire around 7:19 a.m. Saturday on the 48000 block of Minnesota Highway 28 in Ashley Township in rural Sauk Centre, according to a Stearns County Sheriff’s Office news release.
According to the release, property owner Jerry Loxtercamp, 42, of Villard, reported his open-ended shed had smoke billowing out from the round hay bales stacked inside.
The shed was used for housing hay bales and farm equipment. The hay bales were stacked approximately a month ago.
The Sauk Centre Fire Department responded, and Loxtercamp assisted the department by removing the bales as they sprayed water onto them. Approximately 10 bales were damaged.
The structure was still standing and did not appear to sustain any damage.
No one was injured.
Sauk Centre Ambulance and the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the incident.
Domestic assault arrest
NEW LONDON — A 53-year-old man was arrested for domestic assault around 12:49 a.m. Monday on the 1000 block of South Andrew Drive Northeast.
According to the report, the initial call was about someone’s nephew not making sense and wanting him to go to the hospital.
The Kandiyohi Sheriff’s Office, along with the Lakes Area Responders and the New London Ambulance, responded to the incident.
WILLMAR — A truck was reported stolen around 1:02 p.m. Monday on the 100 block of Benson Avenue Southeast.
According to the report, the truck was stolen sometime between 6 p.m. Sunday and 1 p.m. Monday.
There are no suspects at this time.
WILLMAR — A boat was reported stolen around 3:38 p.m. Monday on the 1200 block of High Avenue Northeast.
According to the report, the boat was stolen within the last week.
WILLMAR — Around 4:04 p.m. Monday, tools were reported stolen from a truck on the 900 block of 19th Street Southeast.
Man tries to fight gas station employees
WILLMAR — A man was trespassed from a Kwik Trip around 5:51 a.m. Monday on the 2000 block of First Street South after yelling at an employee and trying to get them to come outside and fight.

WILLMAR — A man was trespassed from a Speedway around 7:09 a.m. Monday on the 400 block of First Street South.
According to the report, the trespass was related to issues he had been causing the day before when he went behind the counter and acted disorderly.
