Willmar woman injured in Thursday morning crash in New London
NEW LONDON — A Willmar woman was injured following a Thursday morning crash with a semitractor on state Highway 23, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
According to the crash report, Magalo Gabow Jimale, 31, of Willmar, was transported to Carris Health — Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar after suffering non-life threatening injuries during the crash.
Jimale was westbound on Highway 23 when she was unable to stop her 2008 Toyota Highlander and struck the rear of a 2016 Freightliner semitractor-trailer as it was turning onto Highway 23 from state Highway 9 with the trailer blocking Jimale’s path, according to the State Patrol.
The driver of the truck, Rocky Lee Hulit, 64, of McBabb, Illinois, was not injured.
Both parties were wearing their seat belts, though only Jimale’s airbag deployed.
