Arrests

WILLMAR — A 19-year-old woman was arrested for an active warrant late Wednesday night on the 1300 block of 24th Street Northwest.

She is currently in custody in the Meeker County Jail on multiple assault charges, including charges relating to assaulting a peace officer and domestic abuse.

WILLMAR — A 37-year-old woman was arrested for an active warrant Wednesday afternoon on the 300 block of 14th Street Southwest.

She is currently in custody in the Meeker County Jail on a driving while impaired charge.

Assault

WILLMAR — An assault was reported Wednesday afternoon on the 400 block of Augusta Avenue Southeast.

Fraud

PENNOCK — A caller reported Thursday morning the illegal printing of money.

The address on the report is on the 9300 block of Kandiyohi County Road 27 Northwest.

Thefts

WILLMAR — A caller reported Thursday morning that two paychecks were stolen from a vehicle on the 700 block of Sixth Street Southwest.

WILLMAR — A caller reported Wednesday afternoon that a car had been broken into on the 1600 block of Upper Trentwood Circle Northeast.

Sex offender

WILLMAR — The Willmar Police Department reported that a level three sex offender has moved to an address on the 1200 block of Quincy Avenue Southwest.

James Stamps Jr. was released Oct. 8, 2020, following felony convictions in 2003 of criminal sexual conduct in the first degree and two felony assault charges.

According to a news release from the department, Stamps has a history of engaging in and attempting to engage in sexual contact with unknown adult women, using force and a weapon to gain compliance.

The date of his address change is listed as Jan. 9, 2021.

Level three offenders are those deemed by the state Department of Corrections to be highly likely to reoffend.

Olivia sex offender loses appeal

OLIVIA — The Court of Appeals rejected an appeal by Ronny Oleson that the District Court abused its discretion by denying his motion for a reduced sentence. Oleson, 61, must continue serving a 74-months prison sentence.

Willmar police use stun gun against woman

WILLMAR — When a Willmar woman did not respond to verbal de-escalation techniques as police officers checked on her welfare, officers were able to get into position to use a Taser stun gun to temporarily incapacitate the individual, according to Willmar Police Chief Felt.

Vehicle fire

FOREST PRAIRIE TOWNSHIP — Emergency services responded to a vehicle fire Tuesday at Clear Lake County Park on Meeker County Highway 2, according to the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office.
