WILLMAR — Law enforcement from the Willmar Police Department and the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Department were called around 7:21 p.m. Saturday to the parking lot of the closed Kandi Entertainment Center on 19th Avenue Southeast in Willmar on the report of several trucks doing burnouts and doughnuts in the parking lot.
One driver was cited by a county deputy for no front license plate and exhibition driving, the incident report said. The driver was also told to tell others participating in the activity to stop or citations will continue.
A police officer did speak with others at the scene and told them to leave, which they did, the report said.
SPICER — Leaders of a Facebook truck group were contacted by the Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Department about complaints the sheriff's office has received regarding truck meets the group has been having.
According to the incident report from around 4:48 p.m. Saturday, a group of approximately 75 vehicles flying Confederate flags were driving 60 mph in a 30 mph zone on Indian Beach Road in Spicer.
The group leaders were told by a deputy, to advise those participating that if the complaints continue citations will be given and the meets stopped.
SPICER — The Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Department assisted the Spicer Fire Department as the fire department battled a grass fire around 8:18 p.m. Friday at the 300 block of County Road 27 Northeast in Spicer.
The incident report said the fire started in brush pile and then spread to the trees in the grove the fire was located in. The fire was extinguished by the fire department.
