Five injured in car crash
MORTON — Five juveniles were injured in a one-vehicle accident Monday afternoon near Morton.
The accident was reported at 4:53 p.m. Monday on Redwood County Road 2, near Oxford Avenue, within the Lower Sioux Indian Community.
According to an accident report from the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office, a 2007 Chrysler 300, driven by Everette Myron Gene Kamolz, 16, was traveling over the posted speed limit, lost control, swerved into the ditch and crashed into a tree. The report did not indicate the hometown of the driver.
The driver and four juvenile passengers were transported by ambulance to Carris Health – Redwood Falls Hospital with minor injuries. The names, ages and hometowns of the passengers were not available in the report.
The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Centra Care Ambulance and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
WILLMAR — A 20-year-old man was arrested for felony fifth-degree drug possession Tuesday morning during a search warrant execution at the Law Enforcement Center in Willmar.
WILLMAR — A trailer was reported stolen Tuesday afternoon on the 900 block of Gorton Avenue Northwest.
WILLMAR — A couple of catalytic converters was reported stolen Monday afternoon on the 3900 block of Abbott Drive Southeast.
Controlled burn gets out of control at waterfowl production site north of Willmar
WILLMAR — A controlled burn Monday at the Weber Waterfowl Production Area north of Willmar grew out of control resulting in four area fire departments and a helicopter with a water bucket needed to put out the blaze.

ALBANY — A woman cooking maple syrup over an outdoor fire Saturday near Albany resulted in a grass fire that spread to a neighboring field and swamp.
