SPICER — A 50-year-old Danube man appeared Monday morning in Kandiyohi County District Court on charges that he sexually assaulted a juvenile girl multiple times over the course of several months in 2014 and 2015.
Jonathan Laurance Malvin is charged with two felony counts of first-degree criminal sex conduct — penetration or contact with a person under 13.
His next court date is scheduled for Aug. 10.
According to court records, Malvin is accused of sexually touching and having sex with the girl in two incidents, once in Spicer and once in Willmar, between October 2014 and January 2015. The girl also reported Malvin would touch her sexually "almost every time she saw (Malvin)."
The juvenile told law enforcement that after one incident at Malvin's residence in Willmar where she was sexually assaulted, he told her "If you tell your mom, you're a dead man."
The juvenile also told law enforcement that Malvin threatened her with a handgun and rope.
"Jon explained he would use the gun to kill (the juvenile) and the rope to tie her up if she told the police or her mother," reads part of the complaint.
The juvenile initially told a school counselor about the abuse, and law enforcement was notified by the school principal.
